SHARE: ShareTweetGoogle+PinterestE-mail South America is a wonderful place to discover new things, landscapes and cultures! So, now that I already told you about Southeast Asia, I’ll write a bit about the other main backpacker hotspot! On the other side of the world is South America! First of all, I should say that many people who come to travel in South America, do not visit Brazil, due to it’s size and higher cost of traveling. But, yea another area which is a backpacker’s paradise for it’s price, culture, easy traveling and also language. Since spanish is widely spoken around the world, it’s much easier to communicate with locals in South America. Besides that, I’ve met quite lots of travelers staying something like 2 weeks in one city learning spanish and then backpacking around the continent. Also, the geography of the continent makes everything a lot easier! There are only 2 directions you may be following: north to south or south to north. You can start in Argentina or Chile and head up towards Colombia and Venezuela or the other way around. It doesn’t really matter, cause “the order of the factors does not change the results”, right? With all the similarities apart, South America still has a very different culture when comparing with Southeast Asia. From the beaches to the Andes mountains, backpackers find every kind of things to do there! You can visit world famous sites, like Machu Picchu in Peru, cross a salt desert in Bolivia or explore the highest waterfall in the world in Venezuela! South America countries can show you a great variety of landscapes and cultures. Check out some of the best places to visit in South America: Iguazú Falls! Patagonia, the southern region of South America, is also a great place to visit! Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia’s salt desert! It’s real salt! Atacama Desert, the driest desert in the world Floating islands of Uros, in the Titicaca Lake, the highest navigable lake in the world! One simply doesn’t come to South America and doesn’t visit Machu Picchu Some pretty cool trekkings as well! Somewhere in Venezuela… SHARE: ShareTweetGoogle+PinterestE-mail Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
